### Lesson Outline:
#### 1. Warm-Up Activity (10 minutes)
- **Greeting and Introduction:**
- Welcome the students and briefly explain the day's topic: "Today we are going to learn about the alphabet and phonics!"
- **Alphabet Song:**
- Play an alphabet song and encourage children to sing and clap along.
- Example: "A is for Apple, B is for Ball", etc.
#### 2. Direct Instruction (15 minutes)
- **Alphabet Flashcards:**
- Show each letter flashcard, one by one.
- Say the letter's name and sound clearly, and have the students repeat after you.
- For example: "A says /æ/, B says /b/."
#### 3. Group Activity (15 minutes)
- **Alphabet Matching Game:**
- Distribute flashcards randomly among students.
- Have students find a partner who holds the flashcard with either the matching upper and lower case letter or an object that starts with that letter.
#### 4. Individual Practice (10 minutes)
- **Phonics Worksheets:**
- Hand out worksheets that have pictures of objects and missing letters.
- For example, a picture of an apple with "_pple" underneath for students to fill in the missing "a."

- Provide each student with a piece of colored paper and ask them to create an art piece representing one letter of the alphabet.
